Flora Homeopathica with 66 coloured illustrations of medicinal plants.

The Flora Homoeopathica comprises of the Illustrations and Descriptions of Medicinal Plants which are generally used for preparing homoeopathic remedies. This, for the first time, was published in 1852 by Dr Edward Hamilton, M.D., F.L.S., a physician to the London Homoeopathic Hospital and a member of the British Homoeopathic Society.

In presenting The Flora Homoeopathica, Dr Hamilton's chief aim was not merely to illustrate and describe the remedies which were used in homoeopathic art of prescribing, but he had a keen desire to give a rational answer to those opponents of the homoeopathic system of medicine who worthlessly used to preach that homoeopathic remedies were quite different from those which were used in old school, were full of poisons and so injurious to health. By presenting this compendium he has disclosed this open fact that the medicinal plants which are used for preparing homoeopathic remedies were among those which were commonly used in the orthodox school of medicine.

With a view that the Flora could give a bird's eye view to all physicians of the originality of the plants used for their medicine and remain in libraries in perpetuity, every endeavour has been made to make the present volume attractive and long-lasting.

We are fully confident that this monumental work will find an honourable place in the library shelves of every person, whether a physician, a research scholar or a manufacturer of medicine.
