In homeopathy we call every group of remedies, having affinity or some connection to each other a 'Family', not so much because it sounds nicer and is more manageable than the scientific names but also to avoid pointless discussions about the particular taxonomy used. Besides that homeopathy knows its own specific 'Families' like: 'Drugs', 'Nosodes' or 'Parasites'. The Vital Approach Map displays an overview of how those Families relate; in just one glance one can see all the options in a given case. The left side of the Map contains the Third Dimension-Families, the right side the Second Dimension-Families. By the main characteristics mentioned on the Map it should be easy to determine which side your patient is on. Seven horizontal divisions, familiar to us as the rows of the Periodic Table, show where the different Families are located. Horizontal and vertical divisions then help deciding which particular Family we need. Boiling down the characteristics of each Family to the very essentials makes the search strategy for a remedy quick and simple. On the outside of the Map you'll find more detailed information about lesser known Families like Molluscs, Insects, Gemstones, Bacteria, Sarcodes and much more.
